In his preface to Anti-Oedipus, Michel Foucault frames the text primarily as a book of ethics. He identifies fascism as the strategic adversary, not only in its historical forms, but as something internalized: “the fascism in us all, in our heads and in our everyday behaviour, the fascism that causes us to love power, to desire the very thing that dominates and exploits us”.
